Accessibility revisited

As we begin to discuss accessibility and usability, remember that interactive media has a steeper learning curve for the end user than does traditional media. Good interface design makes that learning curve more gradual and the user's experience more intuitive. In fact one could say that a well designed interface fades into the background and even disappears as the user goes about his/her task. That's why it's sometimes difficult to recall examples of good interface design...the good examples don't stand out in our memory because they are so effective that they become invisible.
