Wired magazine has been on the cutting edge of technology since its inception in 1993. Wired has been described as "vapid technophilia wrapped in seductive packaging," and, "the lifestyle magazine of choice for Information Age cognoscenti." With Marshall McLuhan as its "Patron Saint,"
Wired serves to remind us of the deterministic view that the medium is in fact an important, if not integral, part of the message. (Those two quotes are from a paper that I wrote in 1997 and can be found

Something new from
Wired is the
Geekipedia, an edgy encyclopedia of technological "need to know" terms and trends. But don't confuse this website with a wiki. While you can suggest entries for inclusion, you can't make the edits yourself. Ah well, it still is a pretty fun way to kill some time and learn a few things while you're at it. Check it out at
